The Rainbow Tournament began as a cultural exchange program, giving Hawai'i teams the chance to play against stronger Mainland teams. It is a competitive invitational Tournament with emphasis on cultural exchange and teams/spectators' sportsmanship behavior. The Tournament attracts dozens of teams each year.
Profits from the Tournament will be used to improve the coaching and referee programs within Section 7.
